Trump derangement syndrome.

In the light of the latest completely unhinged accusations against Donald Trump — accusations so utterly hingeless that even I won't dignify them with a link — I have this to say.

Donald Trump is not only an easy target; he's an easy legitimate target. He genuinely and obviously is so bad in so many ways that it should be really really easy to criticise him. And yet the Left keep coming up with these stupid convoluted and often false accusations, which both help Trump by making his opponents look insane and him reasonable in comparison, and force me and anyone else who may not support him but does value truth into the position of having to defend him.

Stop it. I don't want to defend him. He's a wanker.

If he is so bad then there should be no shortage of legitimate claims but there isn't. Out of all the merkins there must be a lot who would make a better president but out of the two options he was by far the best.

Exactly. His opponent was a lying, corrupt, venal warmonger.

I'd agree that in terms of his style, manner, vocabulary etc, Mr Trump is to politicians as McDonalds is to haute cuisine. However, I do recall that Mr Obama, although normally very statesmanlike and refined, often seemed completely flummoxed without his handy teleprompt machine, so perhaps outward style isn't everything it seems to be.
I broadly agree with the direction and policies Trump is taking. I would have preferred someone with a calmer personality at the helm, but I suppose that in politics the simple, blunt "in your face" character will usually win out against a quiet, blander figure.

Also, even if I had inherited $100 million of wealth to begin with, I seriously doubt that I could turn that into billions without possessing a fair degree of intelligence, know-how and intuitive business sense. Trump may be a buffoon on the surface, but I'd guess there has to be some neural activity going on beneath the orange make-up.

Lord T, Of course there are legitimate claims [of lying for example, as you don't specify] - Trump openly contradicts himself and makes stupid admissions of unacceptable behaviour again and again, such as sexual harassement and tax avoidance.

More seriously, on the campaign trail he said :

“I will tell you this, Russia: If you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Trump said at a news conference then. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”

There's no doubt that the Russians favoured this particular merkin (thanks for that, I could have lived the rest of my life happily ignorant of its meaning) in the White House and interfered with American democracy to make it so.

This happened before you posted, and asserted that there are "no legitimate claims" and since then Trump sacked the Director of the FBI because he was in charge of the investigation of Trump and his minions for collusions with the foreign power.
Again, amazingly, AGAIN, Trump even put this in writing in the letter to Comey he WROTE, yes, in writing :

"While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgement of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the Bureau."

WHY mention the investigation (which isn't, apparently) if it has nothing to do with the dismissal, in the dismissal letter???? It's so BIG, people like you think that it's not so, it can't be! We can only hope that Trump is lying ALL the time because what he says is ridiculous, criminal, treason, contradictory, racist and sexist.
