The fixations of my subconscious.

The night before last, I dreamt that the spelling of the word "if" was to be changed to "iv". There were government adverts on TV, informing us all of how to use the new word and to remember to use the new spelling. It was part of the whole Chip & PIN thing, for some reason, and it was being done to prevent any confusion with "I've".

I'm still trying to work out whether it was just the usual stupid random dream crap or a brilliant commentary on the state of the world today.

Was the pronunciation to be changed as well?

A colleague of mine is considering standing for Parliament, or the local council or something like that. So far his only policy is to increase the power of the local TV transmitter, and he's looking for other ideas. I'll suggest this one to him.

I think the pronunciation was to stay the same.

I wanted to call this post "The preoccupations of my subconscious", but couldn't remember the word "preoccupation".
